Radio broadcast and collective exhibition

FM-eral is a live FM radio station at the heart of an exhibition about translocality. Broadcasting continuously for two weeks—shortly before the shutdown of the FM network in Switzerland—it creates a space for conversations, performances and exchanges that extend beyond the exhibition itself. Alongside it, the exhibition space becomes a mobile cargo warehouse, where artworks mounted on wheels are moved, stored and recombined every day, forming new relationships with one another and continuously reshaping the exhibition. Through broadcasting and constant reconfiguration, FM-eral explores how connections between people, places and ideas are made, transformed and shared.

I Heard It Through the Grapevine presents a pseudo-scientific instrument for examining the grapevine and its layered histories. The plant's electrical impulses were monitored and translated into the output of a printer, which generated historical facts about viticulture according to the intensity of the signals. Functioning as a contemporary oracle, the device invited the grapevine to reveal fragments of its own history while leaving it impossible to distinguish fact from fiction. Combining observation, speculation, and conversation, the work questions the authority of objective knowledge and embraces the coexistence of multiple truths.
During the accompanying radio program, the three artists exchanged stories they had heard about the grapevine, collectively reflecting on which narratives might be true, imagined, or somewhere in between.
